The Window Covering Safety Council works to ensure the safety of all window fashions nationwide, reminding parents to childproof not only outlets and sharp edges but also windows and window coverings. Corded window coverings are one of the top five hidden hazards in children’s homes, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. If infants and toddlers can reach dangling cords, they can pose strangulation dangers, which can result in brain damage or death.
