Classic Blue—2020’s Color of the Year
These days, it seems like nearly everyone is claiming to be able to name a “color of the year.” And none of the colors are remotely the same. So how are we to know if there really IS a color of the year? By looking to the experts. The Pantone Color Institute is world-renowned for their color knowledge, and each year, they give us the low-down on what we can expect. If you’re thinking about adding this year’s color—or any color, for that matter—to your home, talk to a specialist at F&R Interiors serving the greater Los Angeles area. We’ll be happy to help!
About the PANTONE Color of the Year
For the past two decades, the Pantone Color of the Year has inspired manufacturers in industries such as home furnishings, window coverings, industrial design, fashion, and more. Through things like trend forecasts and color psychology, the Pantone Color Institute helps global brands design products that call on the power and emotion of color. Last year’s Color of the Year was Living Coral, which has a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge. This year’s Classic Blue is reminiscent of the sky at dusk. “It’s a color that anticipates what’s going to happen next,” said Laurie Pressman, the vice president of the Pantone Color Institute. “What’s the future going to bring as we move into the evening hours?”
Incorporating Classic Blue
Classic Blue can transform your home in a regal and boundless way. Add a lot of color for a dramatic look (such as with wallpaper or paint on the walls or ceilings) or a little color to simply brighten up your room (such as with throw pillows, lamps, artwork, and vases). Or you can add dimension with things like furniture or window fashions. Hunter Douglas can transform your windows with a variety of collections that offer the Classic Blue color, such as Duette® Honeycomb Shades, Designer Banded Shades, Design Studio Draperies and Drapery Panels, Solera® Soft Shades, roller shades, Modern Precious® Metals aluminum blinds, and more. If you are ready to let the reassuring qualities of Classic Blue bring back balance and stability to your life, let us help you find the right window treatment to complement your décor.
